swissns GmbH teamed up with NoMoreWalking again, this time to support the unaccompanied minors in Greece.
As the borders have closed, more than 2’000 children who took off on this perilous journey alone, or lost their parents on the way to safety, remain stuck alone in Greece. Around 450 children have found a proper shelter, 500 are on the waiting lists for one, currently hosted in police stations or in Camps without any special protection. Apart from those officially on the waiting lists, there about 1000 more children in Greece alone, exposed to trafficking networks and dangers of all sorts. 
Europe’s Criminal Intelligence Agency estimates that 10,000 unaccompanied refugee minors have gone missing.
NoMoreWalking’s initiative Just Cycling saw a team of 17 cyclists rolling from Amsterdam to London and back in just 69 hours, to carry the message of solidarity with these children and raise funds to support the work done by METAdrasi and Ark of the World to care and protect these children.
It was an honour for us to support this amazing team who managed to beat every timing they set, enthusiastically talk about the cause and celebrate solidarity. From 10 countries around the world, they came together to show everyone that united we can achieve so much! They have beaten their fundraising goal twice and are about to hit double their initial estimation, that means more children will be kept safe.
swissns GmbH was one of the major donors and all our funds will go directly to the care of these children, as no travel or administrative costs are covered from these funds.
